Corfu Trip

Fishing boats bobbing
Ionian coastal town
Amphilokhia

Busy port city
near Albanian border
Ingoumenitsa

Ferry to Corfu
cuts through the Ionian Sea
an hour well spent

Slender white candles
burn brightly, ends stuck in sand
Greek Orthodox Church

Slender white candles
throw flickering light onto
sacred icons

slender white candles
kissing glass covered icons
quiet reverence
(written by Ted and Laurie)

A little ouzo
Greek dancing in the hot sun
soon become best friends
(written by Ted and Laurie)

Missing by inches
tour buses almost scrape sides
Kononi Corfu

Husband writes haiku
forgotten by silly sife
on sunny Corfu

Wisteria droops
purple blossoms fill the sky
April on Corfu

  1. Today in the car, Eva kept asking me about rhymes. Does car rhyme with far? Does zoo rhyme with do? Hee, hee, what about poo?

I started telling her about poems. We may just need to start a writing group pretty soon!
